Hythe and District Volunteers

Eaton Lands Sign Tree Planting

Hythe and District Countryside Volunteers are a group who have been working at Eaton Lands Hythe to improve the whole site since 2019.

Amongst their many achievements they have widened pathways through the woodland/quarry area, removed Sycamore seedlings, Alexanders and other  invasive weeds and cleared huge swathes of ground ivy thus allowing more light and diversity into the area so that ferns, bulbs and other plants may thrive.

The volunteers have planted hundreds of tree and hedge saplings, replacing the Ash trees which had to be removed due to Ash dieback.

If you would like to get involved and join the volunteers, they meet up on a Wednesday between 8.00 and 9.00am at Plot 30B on Eaton Lands South allotments, however during the current pandemic please get in touch with Hythe Town Council who will pass your details on.
