The Sports Pavilion was completed in 2010. It was grant-aided by the Football Association, the De Haan Trust and others. The ground floor has four changing rooms. The upper suite was constructed to provide high-quality facilities for classes, meetings and sports events. Built with 21st century needs in mind, it was commissioned with a lift for disabled access, secure parking, catering facilities and lovely views of Hythe.

Safety

The facility undergoes a daily safety and maintenance check. A full PAT test is carried out every year. There is a fire alarm system and emergency lighting. The platform lift has an emergency back-up system for use in the remote event of a mains power failure. It is tested for safety and functionality weekly and also receives an annual test from a professional inspection company. A sophisticated ‘soft start’ electronic drive system means that you do not get jolted at the start or finish of the lift transit. The building is inspected daily as part of the maintenance regime. That way, we spot problems before they become critical.

Support

A caretaker will open up for you and arrange for cleaning before every event. While we will ask you to clear away after you so that we can return your deposit, you won’t need to deal with other users’ mess.

Sports Pavillion Balcony

Facilities

The flooring material is slip resistant sheet vinyl, making it suitable for fitness and similar classes. The huge picture windows to the east provide natural light for art, writing and similar creative classes. The room is separated by a sound-resistant door from the upstairs landing, so your users can be confident of privacy. The suite is on the upper floor so it is not overlooked.

The suite benefits from a wide balcony. Chairs are available if users want to sit and talk. For formal occasions, the balcony is ideal for wedding photography or awards ceremonies.

The facility has male and female toilets which are suitable for disabled people. The toilets are cleaned regularly and professionally. A shower / wet-room is also available. The building was designed to stay cool in summer but has ample heating for winter. A new boiler was installed in autumn 2017.

The upper floor has full audio/video facilities including a sound system (amplifier, speakers) a video projector, a projector screen and black-out curtains. Connect your computer to the system to play videos or conference presentations. A hearing loop system is available if you wish to use it.
